Back in New Zealand home of Kiwis

After 7 months in the UK I have returned to New Zealand back to Christchurch and almost my old job back at Christchurch hospital. Andrew and I are together still which is just the greatest news. We took 2 weeks holiday up to the North Island when I got back and apart from jetlag and a throat infection I managed to walk the Tongariro Crossing in National Park, survived the swell on the boat trip to White Island - active volcano off Whakatane in the Bay of Plenty and used my Christmas present from Andrew to Boogie board off the beaches of Gisborne and the East cape. Lovely sunny weather, succeeded in burning minimally and avoided the masses of mossies! Both trips on the Interisland ferry were lovely and on the return we even saw a Sperm whale blowing in the distance and its tail fin as it dived. other wildlife were the common dolphins on our White island tour. Not yet got the photos onto the computer but will update when I do.
